Tasting Notes January 24, 2015

Have any plans this Saturday? You do now. Join us along with Konrad Turnbull for a wonderful tasting 1pm-7pm.

Domaine Dominique et Janine Crochet Sancerre $26.49
This pale yellow wine explodes with nectarine, white peach and pink grapefruit in the nose, along with a suggestion of cassis and walnut, which on the palate turns to. There is mouth filling caillotte minerality in harmonious balance (dry extract), and lively refreshing acidity.

Domaine Simonin Macon-Vergisson $23.99
Light straw yellow wine with a fresh, subtle flavor. Made from 100 % Chardonnay grapes. A wine with lots of flavor, good acidity and a lot of power. The land on which the grapes are planted for this wine is rich in calcium, with many fossils, which makes for a mineral notes in the wine.

Chateau de Gaudou $18.49
80% Malbec, 10% Merlot and 10% Tannat. The attack is very supple, developing fine, mellowed tannins in harmony with a pleasing body, generously ushering forth blackberry, blackcurrant, strawberry and raspberry aromas to tickle the palate. The flavors linger in the mouth.

Chateau Fantin Bordeaux Superieur $17.99
This fruit driven wine is well balanced with nice texture and soft, well-integrated tannins. An incredible value in red Bordeaux.
