Tasting Notes May 9, 2015

Here's what's in store for this weekends Mother's Day tasting:
Broadbent Vinho Verde $10.49
This Vinho Verde is beautifully fresh with tart green apple, white peach and melon flavors. The finis is deliciously crisp and zesty.
Gruet Brut Rosè $18.99
This nearly garnet Rosè, like all our non-vintage sparkling wines, is aged 24 months en tirage. It has a lovely, bright floral bouquet with hints of strawberry, raspberry, and cherry. On the palate, it is rich and fruity in a dry, Brut Style. The flavor of berries continues on the palate, revealing more strawberry, raspberry and cherry.
Annabella Merlot $18.49
Displays deep brick red color with a hint of purple-plum. The aromas of this wine open with ripe black cherry and a hint of dried plum, which then turns into a silky vanilla mid-palate intertwining the Cabernet-like tannin structure. Beyond the cherry vanilla core, the wine expresses dark chocolate and subtle coffee tones.
Cercius Cotes Du Rhone $16.49
Opaque ruby. Ripe dark berries and wood smoke on the perfumed nose. Lush and creamy in texture, offering sweet blackberry and cherry flavors lifted by a spicy element. Finishes sappy and broad, with gentle tannins and subtle anise and cola qualities. No shortage of fruit here.
